The welcoming restaurant in the heart of Cologne. Nomen est omen is what the old Latin would say. Altertümchen, because that's exactly what has been built here. In the knights' hall (up to 50 persons) you sit partly on legacies of the Romans. The remains of Roman buildings were found here and integrated into the furnishings. Of course, everything has been archaeologically registered. The fountain is in operation when it rains, it is filled by rainwater. Diverse stove plates and doors, old tiles and the other antiquities (Altertümchen) are waiting to be explored. They have been in the house for generations and must not be removed during renovations.
In the restaurant Em Altertümche you should eat, drink and feel good, and that quaint, hearty and whimsical. We attach great importance to fresh food as well as traditional and regional dishes. Depending on the season we adapt our Menu individually, with us you can look forward to a home-style cooking as well as dishes from all over the world. On our menu you will find various dishes, appetizers and desserts, for every taste our kitchen offers something.
We still have one of the last real bowling lanes in Cologne. You are welcome to reserve the bowling lane. Ideal also for birthday parties. On your request we provide our bowling lane, where you can also enjoy our food and drinks.
